Supporting our LGBTQ Community

Despite significant civil rights gains in recent years, individuals and family members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Questioning (LGBTQ) community often face large and small scale marginalization, discrimination, hate, and a variety of other hardships to navigate.  For LGBTQ individuals also working through additional hardships such as homelessness, hunger, unemployment and mental illness, accessing our community’s supportive services can feel insurmountable.

At 2-1-1 San Diego, we are passionately dedicated to breaking down all barriers to accessing health and community services throughout San Diego County.  Recognizing that the LGBTQ community often faces additional barriers to access, 2-1-1 San Diego has created this LGBTQ Community Resource focus page as tool to foster connections needed between service providers and individuals in need.  Our vision is that everyone knows 2-1-1 San Diego, connects with us, and refers to us to get the information they need for a happier, healthier life.

#DoYouKnowPatty is a public service announcement created by Out With It, a national LGBTQAI-centered campaign that supports the goal of ending intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Modeled after AA’s “Are you a friend of Bill?”, the “Do you know Patty?” campaign aims to create a safe space for seeking help and discussing intimate partner violence in the LGBTQAI community.
