General Information

Description of Service

Provides medical, social, and outreach services to American Indians and non-Indian populations in the metropolitan San Diego area. Offers health screening and diagnostic services, including blood pressure checks, AIDS screening, some clients may qualify for free breast cancer screening for women with low income and over 40 years old, diabetes screening and tuberculosis testing; pediatric services include child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP), developmental assessment, well baby care, and immunizations; family planning services such as birth control, pregnancy counseling, and testing; gynecological services; nutrition services; and health education and prevention. HIV/AIDS services include testing, case management, and services to family members. Also offers Project Access and Surgery Day events.

Transportation is provided to/from the clinic and/or to referred agencies for eligible San Diego American Indian patients ONLY who do not have any other means of transportation.

Emphasis is the urban American Indian population, but services are available to everyone (proof of American Indian heritage and/or proof of income required for sliding fee scale). All American Indians are eligible for care regardless of residency or tribal affiliation. Breast cancer screening is provided for women who do not have insurance, low income, and over 40 years old – call for more details.

Services are provided at no or low cost to verified American Indians (proof of American Indian heritage required). Accepts some insurance plans, including Medi-Cal. No charge for breast cancer screening if eligible.
