DESCRIPTION:The 4-Phases of a Disaster: The Resident’s Role \n\nPreparedness (pets and people).\nMitigation (fire prevention and home hardening).\nResponse (evacuation planning and Genasys Protection Evacuation Map).\nRecovery (local assistance centers and the recovery process).\n\nThis presentation is intended to help residents become disaster confident and resilient. This training will prepare residents with the knowledge to help themselves; their families\, friends\, and neighbors prepare for and navigate through the four (4) phases of a disaster. Each attendee will\nreceive a personal disaster plan book to start their preparedness journey. Door prizes! \nGuest Presenters: Red Cross San Diego\, County Fire/CAL FIRE San Diego\, San Diego County Sheriff and San Diego County Office of Emergency Services. \nFREE Flu Vaccine Clinic offered Through Project Wingspan! Call or email Teresa to reserve your vaccine spot (see below). \n\nResidents getting their FREE Seasonal Flu vaccine will receive a $25 gift card. Seasonal flu vaccines are available to anyone 6 months and older who has not received one this flu season.\nFREE Flu\, COVID-19\, and Bird Flu testing are available. Get a $25 gift card.\nFREE Flu Vaccine Clinic was added to the day’s training. However\, it is NOT required to attend the training to receive the Seasonal Flu Vaccine. DESCRIPTION:Feeding San Diego will host a free\, large-scale food distribution Saturday\, November 1\, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. \n\nLocation: Feeding San Diego Headquarters in Sorrento Valley: 9477 Waples St.\, Ste. 100\, San Diego\, CA 92121.\nWhat to Expect: This walk-up distribution is open to the public\, and registration is not required.\nFood Provided: Participants will receive non-perishable grocery items (7–8 items) and approximately 16 lbs of fresh produce.\nFor Participants: This event is intended for individuals and families affected by the government shutdown\, but it is open to all members of the public.\nImportant Note: Please remember to bring your own bags\, carts\, or wagons to transport the food items.
