DESCRIPTION:Join thousands of San Diegans at Balboa Park on Saturday\, October 18\, 2025 for Walk4ALZ\, the region’s largest annual fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care and research\, hosted by Alzheimer’s San Diego. The 2.75-mile walk begins at 8 a.m. (festival area opens at 6:30 a.m.\, opening ceremony at 7:45 a.m.) and raises critical funds to support the 100\,000 local people living with dementia and their caregivers. \nRegistration is free\, and every dollar raised stays in San Diego County to provide support groups\, caregiver resources\, educational classes\, and research funding. Participants can register individually or as part of a team\, and anyone outside San Diego can also join virtually by walking “anytime\, anywhere” that weekend.

We will divert litter from our watersheds and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean. \nOur staff will have check-in ready for you on site. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes\, closed-toed shoes\, some form of sun protection (sunscreen or a hat) and bring a water bottle or two! Staff will be providing everything else you will need! After a short orientation and safety talk you will be sent off to remove litter around the area! Staff will sort and dispose of the collected litter and after the cleanup you can request community service verification in your Community Hub dashboard. \nWAIVERS: This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers\, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian. Please download and print the waiver below\, sign\, and bring with you to this cleanup. No printer? No problem! We will have waivers at check-in for volunteers.
