SUMMARY:4-Phases of a Disaster: The Resident’s Role
DESCRIPTION:This presentation is intended to help residents become disaster confident and resilient. This training will prepare residents with the knowledge to help themselves; their families\, friends\, and neighbors prepare for and navigate through the four (4) phases of a disaster. Each attendee will\nreceive a personal disaster plan book to start their preparedness journey. The presentation will be conducted by Subject Matter Experts in their respective fields and in their specific roles during a disaster. Partner agencies will be hosting disaster preparedness information and resource tables at the training. \nThe 4-Phases of a Disaster:\n1) Preparedness: (pets and people).\n2) Mitigation: (fire prevention and home hardening).\n3) Response: (evacuation planning and Genasys Protect Evac Map).\n4) Recovery: (local assistance centers and the recovery process). \nPresenters: Red Cross San Diego\, San Diego County Fire/CAL FIRE San Diego\, San Diego County Sheriff\, San Diego County Office of Emergency Services\, and the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel’s Fire & Police Chiefs. \nThis excellent and very informative training session is being co-hosted by the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel and San Diego County Fire’s Community Emergency Response Team. This is a Listos CA CERT Support Grant Funded training (LC23 01 0370). Light refreshments and snacks will be served. SUMMARY:CPR/AED Training (Adult/Child/Infant)
DESCRIPTION:This training will cover Adult/Child/Infant CPR and AED use. The training will include safe glove removal\, relief of choking and safety for the individual responding during an emergency. This training is intended to provide residents the skills and knowledge needed to help during a cardiac emergency until first responders arrive. \nParticipants will receive a 2-year certification upon successful completion of the training. Registration is open to San Diego County residents 16-years and up. Minors will need to attend this training with their parent or guardian present. Course taught by Health & Safety Institute (HSI) certified instructors. HSI is a Nationally Recognized Program. \nPre-registration is required as seating is limited due to the mandated maximum instructor to student ratios.
