25th Annual Fall Back Festival

November 2 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Get ready to turn back the clock—literally! On Sunday, November 2, 2025, as daylight savings time ends, the Gaslamp Quarter transforms into a vibrant celebration of history at the 25th Annual Fall Back Festival. From 12 pm to 4 pm, the streets surrounding the iconic Davis-Horton House at 4th and Island Avenue will transport visitors to a bygone era, filled with historic fun, hands-on learning, and memorable adventures for the entire family.

Now in its milestone 25th year, Fall Back Festival has become a beloved San Diego tradition—where families gather to experience old-fashioned amusements, cultural demonstrations, and timeless community spirit. As the clocks “fall back,” so does the Gaslamp Quarter, offering an immersive afternoon where history truly comes to life.

Bring your loved ones for a Sunday brimming with interactive activities and entertainment: watch in awe as a talented blacksmith forges iron, join the laughter and cheers of a pie-eating contest, feel the rhythm of the Kumeyaay Drum Circle, and explore dozens of engaging attractions designed to spark curiosity and delight children of all ages.

Activities and Demonstrations for this year’s fest include:

  • Butter Churning / Candle Making Demonstration
  • Caricaturist / Face Painter / Balloon Maker
  • Kumeyaay Drum Circle
  • Penny Candy Booth
  • Fun Competitions for Prizes & Giveaways
  • Root Beer Float Bar
  • Stagecoach Photo-Op
  • Native California Tools & Weaponry

This FREE event is more than just a festival—it’s a living time capsule, blending San Diego’s rich cultural heritage with a playful family street fair atmosphere. Kids can step into the shoes of early San Diegans, while parents enjoy the nostalgia and energy of an afternoon designed to connect generations.

Fall Back Festival is proudly presented by the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation and plays a vital role in advancing their mission to preserve the history and culture of the Gaslamp Quarter, providing a living history of San Diego for all to enjoy.
