4-Phases of a Disaster: The Resident’s Role
This presentation is intended to help residents become disaster confident and resilient. This training will prepare residents with the knowledge to help themselves; their families, friends, and neighbors prepare for and navigate through the four (4) phases of a disaster. Each attendee will
receive a personal disaster plan book to start their preparedness journey. The presentation will be conducted by Subject Matter Experts in their respective fields and in their specific roles during a disaster. Partner agencies will be hosting disaster preparedness information and resource tables at the training.
The 4-Phases of a Disaster:
1) Preparedness: (pets and people).
2) Mitigation: (fire prevention and home hardening).
3) Response: (evacuation planning and Genasys Protect Evac Map).
4) Recovery: (local assistance centers and the recovery process).
Presenters: Red Cross San Diego, San Diego County Fire/CAL FIRE San Diego, San Diego County Sheriff, San Diego County Office of Emergency Services, and the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel’s Fire & Police Chiefs.
This excellent and very informative training session is being co-hosted by the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel and San Diego County Fire’s Community Emergency Response Team. This is a Listos CA CERT Support Grant Funded training (LC23 01 0370). Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Door prizes for completing the full training session.
