Filing to USTC and Appealto CUIAB: Process & Results (2024)-LASSD

In our hybrid Tax/UIB webinar series done in partnership with Legal Aid Societyof San Diego’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) and Unemployment InsuranceBenefits (UIB) depts. and the San Diego Law Library from July-Dec. 2024, we willbe presenting during the month of October our second procedural webinar “Filingto USTC and Appeal to CUIAB: Process & Results (2024)”, where we willexplain interesting details about:

• Similarities and differences between filing a tax case to the United StatesTax Court (USTC) & appealing to the California Unemployment InsuranceAppeals Board (CUAIB).
• Discussion of key facts and outcomes for a tax case at the USTC level, andappeal process with the CUIAB (Part 2).
• 2024 UIB updates: EDD Payments and Disaster Unemployment Assistance, myEDDlanguage expansion & fraud prevention, and myAppeal sign up and appealtimeframe.
• Important USTC/CUIAB appeal stats, and tips for successful processes.
• Services provided at our LITC and UIB departments
